Stevenage lost 0-1 at home to Milton Keynes Dons in League One on Saturday 24 October. The decisive moment came nine minutes from time when Sam Nombe finished from an Aaron Collins assist.

The result is Stevenage's third defeat in their last five matches, a run that has seen them drop to ninth place in the table with 15 points from 10 games, having recorded four wins and three draws. They now sit seven points behind leaders Stockport County. The visitors controlled large portions of the game, enjoying 60% possession and creating the better chances, reflected in a significant expected goals advantage of 1.96 to 0.53.

Stevenage's best spell came early, but they struggled to test MK Dons goalkeeper Dennis. The game turned in the final quarter when Collins found space and set up Nombe for a close-range finish. Manager Revell made a flurry of substitutions in response, introducing Kaelan Casey, Sanderson, Terry Taylor, Phoenix Patterson and Chem Campbell, but his side could not find an equaliser.

Josh Magennis, Stevenage's top scorer this season with three goals, was booked for dissent in the first half. Captain Carl Piergianni also received a yellow card in a match that saw five cautions in total. The defeat follows a mixed run of results, including a 3-0 win over Plymouth on 20 October and a 2-0 loss at Bradford on 17 October. Their recent form across the last five games stands at three wins and two losses, with a 1-0 victory over Wigan on 10 October and a 2-1 win against Leicester on 6 October preceding the loss to Bradford. The team has scored 15 goals and conceded 10 this season.

Next up is a tough trip to face Leicester City, who are tenth in the table, at the King Power Stadium on Saturday 31 October. Stevenage beat Leicester 2-1 at home earlier this month, and a similar result would help stabilise their league position.
