Stevenage head coach Alex Revell is urging his players to maintain their recent momentum as they prepare for Saturday's League One trip to Leyton Orient. The Boro have climbed to ninth in the table with nine points from six games, four points behind leaders Sheffield Wednesday, after a strong response to a slow start.

Revell told his squad to feed off the increasing feel-good factor around the club. "There's no better feeling than when everybody gets to celebrate like that after a game," he said. "We know how much it means to everybody, and how hard everybody works here - staff, players, everyone."

Building on a turnaround

Stevenage took just one point from their opening three league matches, suffering home defeats to Oxford United and Reading. They have since responded with two draws followed by a 5-1 thrashing of Barnsley and a 2-1 home victory over Luton Town last Thursday. Daniel Kemp, the club's top scorer with three goals this season, was on target in both of those wins.

Revell emphasised a simple approach with his squad. "This is not a group of players where you overload them," he explained. "You just need to keep it simple." He believes adding more pace and one-on-one moments will keep the team in a strong position.

Looking ahead to Orient

The trip to Brisbane Road presents a chance to build on last season's strong start, which included a victory over the same opponents. Stevenage won eight of their first ten matches last term, a run that briefly sent them top of the table. Leyton Orient, currently 15th, are having a mixed start under Richie Wellens. The last meeting between the sides in March ended in a 2-1 win for Orient.

Revell is targeting a win to head into the international break in the upper reaches of the division. "We want to win this game to go into the international break in that top pack," he stated. "We want to continue this momentum, building belief in what we're doing." Fans can check the team's upcoming schedule on the club's fixtures page and view the current standings. Stevenage face Leyton Orient away on Saturday, 19 September.
